William Filter

Chief Contemplative Officer
Lead Instructor & Training Supervisor

Bill is an experienced meditation and integration coach serving clients globally, both in person and online. Bill has studied and practiced Tibetan Buddhism for over thirty years, and has more than thirteen years of experience as a meditation instructor. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and studied contemplative sciences at Naropa University.


In 2012, Bill co-founded the AMP Training Method, combining physical training methodology with hands-on contemplative instruction. He continues to train Navy SEALs, Special Forces veterans, professional athletes, firefighters, and law enforcement personnel. Since 2021, his work with The Wisdom dojo has focused on post-psychedelic integration, where he developed an in-depth program using advanced traditional meditation techniques.


Bill serves as Lead Instructor and Training Supervisor at both The Wisdom dojo and Vajra Ocean. His user-friendly teaching style draws from his background as a bodybuilder and personal trainer, along with his passion for helping clients define and achieve their goals. His practical, interactive approach supports trainees in integrating their experiences through meditation and community.

Nancy Young

Executive Director
Instructor & Group Facilitator

Nancy holds a degree in Eastern Religions from Yale University and a master’s degree in contemplative psychology. She is a psychotherapist specializing in children, families, and seniors, and previously founded and managed an eight-bed assisted living and end-of-life care home in Colorado. She continues to advocate for senior rights to in-home hospice care and access to mental health services.


Nancy currently serves as a mediator in family, civil, and consumer disputes. She mentors new mediators, assists clients in District Court cases on the Big Island of Hawaii, and works both online and in person. She co-founded the Vajra Ocean Community Board and launched the weekly Community Sitting Practice.


With over forty years of Buddhist study and practice, Nancy facilitates meditation-based integration programs with an emphasis on long-term support and ongoing contemplative practice.

Jacob Young

Integration Specialist

Jake is a certified meditation instructor, scientific researcher, and integration specialist who has taught meditation since 2015. He holds a degree in contemplative neuroscience from Colby College and has published research on meditation and psychedelics. He has conducted research with advanced meditators in India and Nepal and continues to contribute to neuroscience studies.


In his previous role at Mindbloom, Jake guided over 400 clients through post-treatment support. He also helped build operational infrastructure and authored training programs for new guides. He continues his work with an international Buddhist organization, coordinating events in Wisconsin.


Jake brings a grounded, informed coaching style to Vajra Ocean, supporting both individual clients and the broader community.

Maximillion Filter

Integration Specialist

Max is a second-generation Tibetan Buddhist practitioner with over sixteen years of meditation practice and study.


He has a strong interest in Buddhist philosophy and logic and has participated extensively in study programs and retreats. Professionally trained as a sound recordist, he also supports the audiovisual recording and preservation of meditation teachings within his community.


In 2023, he became certified to teach Fundamentals of Meditation. Max supports the team by applying traditional Buddhist philosophy to modern integration practice and is developing study programs to support daily meditation.

Max also supports practitioners in long-term practice settings. He has completed over five 100-day retreats, where he continues to hone his skills.

Stephanie Bryce

Stephanie Bryce

Steph is passionate about personal growth and supporting others on their journeys. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work with a specialty in Addictions Studies from Michigan State University. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, she has extensive experience working with individuals, families, and groups across a wide range of settings.
Her work includes wilderness therapy, correctional settings, Drug Court programs, and community mental health clinics.
Steph’s personal journey as a wife and mother deeply informs her work. She is dedicated to helping others feel seen and supported. At Vajra Ocean, she coaches Fundamentals of Meditation, teaching skills in self-awareness, nervous system regulation, concentration, and heart-opening.

Amanda Burrill

Integration Specialist
Community Board Member

Amanda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology from Boston University and a Master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She is also a classically trained chef and U.S. Navy veteran.
Her accomplishments include completing multiple marathons and triathlons, climbing high alpine peaks, and recovering from a traumatic brain injury.
Amanda brings a strong passion for growth, resilience, and human potential. At Vajra Ocean, she works as a coach, meditation instructor, Reiki Master, facilitator, and NLP practitioner. She is also a founding member of the Community Board.

The Wisdom dojo is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering one-on-one meditation training and integration support for veterans following psychedelic-assisted therapy.


In addition to individual training, The Wisdom dojo provides access to a strong community, retreats, and a veteran employment program – all free of charge.
